Who in the hell decided pantyhose were a good idea? |
They have got to be the least comfortable, least complimentary, leasts durable, utterly ridiculous and obnoxious garments ever created. I realize that the tight, short skirt doubtlessly led to their ascent, but why were other methods of hosiery phased out? Thigh highs/stockings are infinitely superior. I had the good fortune of inheriting some adhesive/elastic free vintage thigh highs and they are the most fantastic things in my closet. Granted, you need to wear a garter belt in order to keep them up, but really, isn't that just a benefit/argument in their favor? The feeling of a properly fitting and functioning garter belt is fantastic. I never want to buy pantyhose again in my life. The thigh highs you can buy in department stores all have this damn elastic on them, which with repeated use welts up my leg, which is NOT ok. Luckily, after a few washings, the adhesive is fucked. However, I have no idea where I could actually buy more of the non adhesive sort. Maybe a lingerie store? I've never actually looked at stockings in lingerie stores. I know stockings and thigh highs are more expensive, but I really think that the freedom from pantyhose aggravation that they bring is worth the steeper price tag.
Does anyone here know where adhesive-free thigh highs/stockings can be bought?
